Bluewaters Island is a high-profile development by Meraas, officially approved by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The project was launched in 2013, with major contractors including Van Oord, Hyundai Contracting, and Starneth Engineering. The development reflects Dubai’s vision of luxurious, integrated coastal living with a strong tourism component.
Designed as an integrated destination, Bluewaters Island features 10 residential towers with around 698 units and 17 townhouses. The apartments are offered in 1 to 4-bedroom layouts and include luxury penthouses. All the units have spacious indoor and outdoor areas, en-suite bathrooms, and kitchens with high-end appliances. Construction quality features encompass minimalist design, neutral color scheme, and luxurious materials such as Scandinavian wooden floors.
Aside from homes, the island boasts of famous landmarks like Ain Dubai, the world's tallest Ferris wheel, and two five-star hotels: The Address Beach Resort and The Banyan Tree. Both hotels provide private beach access and resort-like amenities, including VIP suites with private pools and award-winning spas.
Although parts of the island are still under construction, the development is rapidly approaching completion. The entire island is planned to promote a walkable, sustainable lifestyle with amenities that include jogging tracks, beach clubs, entertainment, and public transport integration.
