Developed by Nakheel Properties, launched in 2001
Palm Jumeirah was developed by Nakheel Properties and officially launched in 2001. It spans 560 hectares and comprises a mix of apartments, villas, townhouses, and luxury hotels. Designed in the shape of a palm tree, the island features a central Trunk, 16 Fronds, and an outer Crescent that hosts many beachfront resorts.
The apartments are mainly located on the Trunk and come in various configurations from studio to 6-bedroom units. These offer premium interiors, with built-in wardrobes, en-suite bathrooms, and some with balconies, terraces, or maid’s rooms. Villas, found along the Fronds, range from 2 to 10 bedrooms and offer private beach access, expansive layouts, and diverse architectural styles from traditional Arabic to modern luxury.
Many properties in the community cater to short-term tourists and long-term residents. Townhouses and penthouses are also available with unique layouts. The island is also home to The Palm Tower – a mixed-use development with residential units and a hotel managed by St. Regis Dubai.
Besides residences, Palm Jumeirah is known for hosting luxury hotels, dining hotspots, leisure facilities like waterparks and aquariums, and upscale malls. These contribute to its reputation as both a premium living destination and a tourist magnet.
