DP World
DP World is a multinational logistics company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Formed in 2005 by the merger of Dubai Ports Authority and Dubai Ports International, DP World handles 70 million containers brought in by around 70,000 vessels annually. This equates to roughly 10% of global container traffic accounted for by their 82 marine and inland terminals present in over 40 countries.
DP World owns and operates Dubai Maritime City, a specialized maritime zone located between Port Rashid and the Dubai Dry Docks. The area offers easy access to the sea, airports, and public transportation, and is connected by a causeway to the wider road network, providing access to fast-moving expressways.
In February 2022, it was announced that DP World would launch a major project to develop Dubai Maritime City's infrastructure at a cost of AED 140 million. DP World's portfolio also includes Mina Rashid Cruise Terminal, Coast Bert & P&O Marinas, Mina Al Hamriya in Dubai City, Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), National Industries Park (NIP), Dubai Auto Zone (DAZ), Dubai Trade, and World Security.
